Chances are, as regular readers of our As I See It blog, you know, first hand, the powerful touch of Jesus, as He invites us to join Him into God’s unforced rhythms of grace, learning to live freely and lightly for the cause of Christ. As one pastor calls all this, we are learning to live our lives at Godspeed.
It’s with great joy that Sandy & I have been working alongside Sustainable Faith, training folks in the ancient disciplines of spiritual direction over the last four years. And now, this fall/winter 2019/2020, we are thrilled to start working with a new SF curriculum designed for those who are new to the disciplines of spiritual formation, yet still hear and desire to respond to the invitation of the Master to “keep company with Me, learning to live freely and lightly.”
In November 2019 (Kansas City), and in January 2020 (Minneapolis), we will be kicking off a new pilot course called The Sustainable Faith School of Contemplative Life. Unlike our two-year training cohorts in spiritual direction, this curriculum will be offered on a quarterly basis over a two-year period (8 sessions) meeting for a 24-hour overnight experience (Friday night thru Saturday afternoon) in a beautiful retreat setting.
These two retreats (Kansas City and Minneapolis) will be offered on a limited basis (18-24 persons per retreat) and are open to anyone who is new to the ancient disciplines of spiritual formation yet, as we said, are desiring more in their relationship with God as they journey with Jesus.
