Caring For Your Soul

God has many treasures to share with you if you will only take the time to listen!

Here at The Contemplative Activist, we are a resource ministry designed specifically for the encouragement of all who are looking to step out of the busy traffic of everyday life and give themselves a bit more time for silence, solitude and practicing the presence of God: a life of Christ-centered 3-C contemplative activism

We suggest three important steps:

Step One: Start your spiritual journey by reading and exploring! Stop, look and listen for others out there who are speaking on the subjects of spiritual formation, soul care, and Christ-centered contemplative activism. Here’s our suggested book list that will help you get started! We also suggest you check out our “As I See It” blog. We publish here every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and our readers tell us that our posts are very edifying to both them and to others they share our writings with. You can also stay in touch with us through the following media connections:

Step Two: Begin to slow down your own life, taking extra time for your personal spiritual formation. The care of your soul is vitally important to Jesus, to you, your family, and those who live and work around you. We have many tools to help you begin your journey. Below you’ll find a handful of suggested on-line resources to aid you in the on-going care of your soul:

Step Three: Prayerfully consider working with a Christ-centered spiritual director whose primary job is to simply come alongside you, becoming a spiritual companion in the care of your own soul. (watch this video or read more) We suggest that you find a well-trained, Christ-centered, Spirit-directed man or woman who will fully embrace the importance of making time and space for you and your journey with God (click here to find a director).

Then, as you continue on your pathway in Christ-centered 3-C contemplative activism, you might consider these two additional steps…

Step A: Consider bringing us into your community for a Caring For Your Soul retreat, focusing on the themes of Christ-centered 3-C contemplative activism. We are available for a variety of retreat options for small groups and/or church leadership teams who are interested in exploring the many benefits of living the 3-C life of contemplative activism (read more).

Step B: Prayerfully consider training in Christ-centered spiritual direction. What might your life look like if you were a part of a group of lay leaders in your church or in your community operating in the fine art of spiritual direction? Just think what that might do in helping to expand the ministry of the Kingdom of God throughout your city (read more)!
